Blog introduction

Hey there, welcome to Wandawave, This is my first post and I wrote this to give an idea of what to expect from my blog. But before I dive in, a quick introduction.

I’m Elizabeth, a software developer and part-time digital nomad from Lagos, Nigeria. I love to travel (who doesn’t duh) and travel has become my remedy for everything, I mean why would I confront the voices in my head when I can go bungee jumping in South Africa right? (PS: If you happen to be a therapist I’m just joking 🌚)

Also, it is nice to get away from the everyday madness which is Lagos. I have traveled to a few places in Africa and Europe and more to come.

As a passionate traveler who’s experienced the challenges of visa applications, customs offices, and the unpredictability that comes with it, I decided to create this blog.

Being Nigerian, I understand the hurdles we face when it comes to travel — visa applications, unpredictable flight tickets, and the anxiety at customs. I hope this blog shares my experiences and offers insights into what you should expect when traveling. Of course, everyone’s journey is unique, and I’d love to hear about yours too. I’ll also be sharing travel tips, destinations, and some travel stories.

I’m not just passionate about exploring the world; I’m also committed to making this blog accessible to everyone. Web accessibility is a cause close to my heart as a web developer. So, expect Wandawave to be a space where everyone can dive into travel tales and tips regardless of abilities. Accessibility matters, and I want everyone to feel welcome here.

If you’re on board with this adventure, consider subscribing to my blog for notifications on new posts. If emails aren’t your thing, you can follow me on Instagram @izzy_travels for updates, travel pics, and maybe some Instagram reels once I stop being lazy and figure out this video editing thingy properly.

And because life isn’t just about travel (well, mostly), I might throw in some non-travel posts about other passions, but don’t worry, no boring tech stuff — I promise.

Oh, and did I mention I’m a Marvel fan? Yep, Wanda’s my favorite! I named this blog Wandawave instead of Wanderwave, so we’re riding the Wandawave. Stay tuned for more posts and I’ll be expecting your comments. See ya!
